When Daniel Ellsberg released the Pentagon Papers in 1971 they revealed the US Government’s lies about the war on Vietnam. 35 years later Ellsberg received the Right Livelihood Award, the so-called alternative Nobel Price, for “… dedicating his life to inspiring others to follow his example.”
For the last 6 years Ellsberg has campaigned against the exercise of executive power by the Bush administration. He calls for action to end the expansion of the war in the Middle East and an attack on Iran. He urges government insiders to come up with the new set of Pentagon papers, to act now and not wait until they write their memoirs. The American public needs to see the current attack plans on Iran in order to prevent a terrible expansion of the war in the Middle East.
Daniel Ellsberg spoke on December 18, 2007, at the Republican Round Table in a downtown hotel in San Francisco.
